If you’re running your own business from home, then presentation is quite key to how your customers perceive you. For a lot of goods, wrapping them tidily is the minimum criteria to make sure your customers think highly of you when they receive the package.
If you’re selling gifts or hampers, or lifestyle products such as perfumes or clothes, then gift wrapping your products is certainly something you should give a thought to. If you’re selling other goods, then you can upsell by offering giftwrapping as a separate, additional, chargeable service - you can make an extra £1-2 or more out of every customer! So it’s certainly worthwhile thinking about it.
You can spend hours trawling around the shops, but I swear by ebay for giftwrapping. There’s a MUCH larger selection available online than any local shop could have available and it’s delivered to you, so you don’t have to take time out, this is especially handy if you don’t live near any shops that might sell the sort of wrapping and embellishments you’re after, or if you’re starting your business as a part-time job after you’ve worked full-time, or even if you have caring responsibilities and simply can’t get to the shops!
