Mark Radcliffe Becomes the UK’s First eBay Millionaire
The UK’s first eBay millionaire has been announced today. Just ten years ago, when Mark Radford started dabbling around with eBay from the spare room in his parents’ house, he never dreamt that just ten years later he’d become the UK’s first eBay millionaire.
He got started trading on eBay when his friends were getting into phone accessories, so he started selling them online through eBay. It wasn’t long before he set up an actual eBay store and today he’s selling everything from mobile phone accessories to protein supplements.
Mark now owns a £700,000 home, a £150,000 Ferrari and a £118,000 Aston Martin. His monthly orders of around 36,000 make him the largest eBay trader in Britain, based on sales, and the sixth-largest eBay trader in the world.
Mark says “All my mates had mobile phones and needed accessories so I thought it would be a good way to make money. Then I started selling computer accessories too and it just escalated. The internet means that virtually anyone can succeed in business from a low start-up point. All it takes is a lot of hard work and determination.”
He didn’t set out to succeed, it just kind of happened and he just kept doing it and improving as he went… and you could do the same.
Here’s a look at Mark’s eBay store - remember, it was never this large when he started! One day, just 10 years ago, he sat down and simply listed his first item for sale … I bet he wondered if anybody’d buy it … now look at him go!!!
