Money Making Ideas

How to Monetize Your Blog or Website Easily

Here are two great ways to monetize your blog or website easily.

Linkshowoff Earn money from your website/blog. Get paid through PayPal

It’s all about making money isn’t it!  Well, that’s what we’re here for… and I do like to share with you, my readers, the nifty tips, tricks, plugins and great tools I find.  I spend about 15 hours/day researching and testing things just so I can create what looks like a 10 minute blog entry, so you can pop in for 5 minutes and grab some  goodness! For the record, at the time of writing I’ve just created a widget and placed it over on the right - I made it green … by the time you read this I might have changed my mind about position or colour though!  But you’re looking for a coloured box that says “Advertise here for $1″ (that’s the price I set and the colour I chose).

How to monetize your blog easily - and I mean REALLY easily

If you can’t or won’t get a Google Adsense account, if you can’t or won’t become an affiliate, if you just want a simple way to monetize your blog easily, then this is for you.

Linkshowoff

Simply sign up and inside you’ll find the simplest control panel in the world. The process is simple:

Create a Widget:

Give your widget a name - this is for you, not what your site visitors see, it will help you manage and understand where the widgets are if you are creating more than one. You choose how many links there will be (5-20), you choose how much people should pay you ($1 is the default), you choose a colour of the box from a drop down list. You can create as many widgets as you want - put a different one on each page if you want! Use it on as many websites or blogs as you have

Grab the Code:

As you create each widget, just click on Get The Code from the admin panel and copy it.   You can edit or delete any widget too just as easily.  So,  you might start by offering a 5-slot widget, then in time make that larger.  As your link slots become popular you might also start putting your price up.  Remember though … having this on your website will be increasing your traffic, the  higher your price, the less traffic is coming to your site to see if they want to advertise with you.  So I’d prefer to keep the rate low and have the higher traffic.  But it’s your choice, you’re in control.

Place it on your Site!

You can place this code anywhere on your website or blog - and it takes under 2 minutes to sign up, create your widget and have that code ready to place!

How Does It Work?

Firstly, I’ll confirm, this is completely free to sign up.  That’s what’s so great about it - it’s free and it’s easy. Ideal for beginners who have never tried anything like this before. Obviously your website visitors will see your link box and might buy link space from you, but there’s also a growing marketplace of advertisers queuing up to advertise on your website or blog! Advertisers will log in and search through the sites to see where they want to buy a link space. So you can just sit back and leave it at that. Advertisers get to track their adverts, which is important to them, so they’re highly likely to advertise with you because they can see how their investment’s performed. You can reject any advert you don’t want on your site, no penalties, you simply reject it.

Getting Paid

You’re paid monthly, once there’s over $25 in your account. There is a $3 admin fee deducted per payment you receive, so if you earnt $100 in a month you’d receive $97, if you earn $25 every three months, you’d receive $22. There are no other fees. You will need a Paypal account to get paid. You’ve probably got one already, but if not, then they’re free to get too, so go sign up with Paypal next. If you’re wanting to earn money online then most companies pay by Paypal these days, so you’ll need it soon enough! I can’t believe how simple this is. Below are the two screens you’ll see in the admin panel so you can see:

This is a fairly new system, but it’s neat and the simplest thing to use I’ve ever come across, so join now and see the difference it makes as it drives free traffic to your website as well as bringing you in an income. win:win!

UPDATE:  While I was writing this blog entry, I decided to throw the widget at another site I have, it only gets 20-30 visitors per day and I set the price at $3 … I logged in a week later and already two links had been sold!  I didn’t expect that, to be honest.  So go on, grab this and try it out… it worked for me on a very low traffic site.    There’s always somebody out there looking for slots to buy!

Ask 2 Link

Earn money from your website/blog. Get paid through PayPal

The second way is by signing up with Ask 2 Link as a publisher and then simply typing your site details into their directory - advertisers will then go through the directory and may choose to advertise on your site. Signing up literally takes 20 seconds and you’re taken straight into listing your website/s.

Pricing

With Ask 2 Link you don’t have to worry about setting the price, there is a default pricing scale, with advertisers paying between $1 and $160 per text link, depending on your Page Rank. However, when you add your site it’s easy enough to override this and enter your own price if you wish. If you don’t know, leave it at the default for now and change it later once you’ve seen the results! Advertisers prefer you to offer text link on an individual page (rather than site-wide), which means you can sell an advertising spot on EVERY page of your site!

Here is how easy it is to add your sites:

Get Paid for Text Links

To add your sites, you’re asked the bare minimum of information, which I think is great. It’s straight forward to do and takes under a minute. The information you enter here is what potential advertisers will see, so you want to make it as attractive as possible. Share some stats (page views/month, rank, FeedBurner subscribers count, or other unique facts) about your website to help them choose you over somebody else. In the site url box, if you want to offer a text link on, say, 4 pages, you’d need to insert each url separately, so advertisers pick the one they want. Don’t put your site url there unless you are offering a link on the home page only, or if you are offering a site-wide text link.

Install the Link Widget

As soon as you click to Add your site, you’re taken to the Widget Wizard page where you select your website type from the drop down list Text Links Wizard You then press the NEXT button and the following page gives you step-by-step instructions on what to do with it to get it onto your site, it’s no different to how you’d usually get anything, or a widget, onto your site so no surprises there, but if this is your first time then it is clear to follow what to do. I use Wordpress and it was a single file that just had to be dropped into the /plugins/widgets directory and activated. The whole process from signing up, through listing your site and installing the widget should take you no more than 5 minutes.

Summary Of the two methods above, the first one is the easiest if you’re completely new to all of this, but both are well worth a go and they’re very easy. I’m sure there’ll be a lot of products like LinkShowOff and Add2Link appearing on the market in the coming year, but for now these are the two I am trialling across my pages and sites.  Why don’t you try them both for 3 months and see how you get on! Good luck monetizing your blog!
