Get Paid for Writing Small Articles: Squidoo
You can be paid for writing articles, recipes, opinions about anything you’re interested in, without having to find yourself any clients. How great is that?
The Internet has seen many websites that allow you to get paid for writing, all of which have different ways of working and different ways of paying you. One such system is Squidoo.
Squidoo pay you based on the popularity of what you write. You will need a Paypal account to be paid, but that’s easily enough sorted.
Or, if you want to earn money with your own website but don’t want to pay for hosing/domain name, then you can experiment and build a series of pages on Squidoo and see how it goes! In the future, if you become more interested in getting your own site, you’ll have already written a lot of your material - AND - you can go back to Squidoo and edit each of your lenses to include your website address once you have one. You could use Squidoo to test popularity of your idea, then just build you final site out of things that have proven themselves to be most popular within your area of interest.
Why not jot down your family recipes now and get started by writing those up. Or your opinion on the weekend’s soccer game. How about your favourite TV series? Your life is full of things you can write about!
Strategy
Writing one Squidoo Lens won’t be enough for you to sit back and watch your fortune roll in! So you need a strategy. Try writing three Squidoo lenses each day - and keep that up for a year. Think of it as your part-time job! Over the year you’ll learn to make them better, you’ll see the income rise. You have to keep doing it. JK Rowling didn’t stop writing after the first book (even though she didn’t need to) - and you shouldn’t either. To build a good, regular, income, you need to focus and keep at it. Trust me, do it and it will happen. Set that as your goal: create 3 lenses per day.
Once you have created a lens, you can go back and edit/update it as often as you like, in fact it will probably do better (pay you more) if you do keep them updated.
Earnings
There’s no way to guess how much you’ll earn, but I do know of one person that made $1000 in one month from just one lens - and he’d been writing lenses for just about a year. You can’t predict which of your lenses will be successful, or not. But the more you have out there, the better chance you stand.
Link a Lens to Your Website or Affiliate Links
Squidoo does allow you to link your lens to your own website and to affiliate sites if you’re an affiliate marketer. The bottom line is, if your Squidoo Lens is good, you’ll earn money from it, if it’s rubbish, you won’t. So get writing!
Use your Squidoo Lens to drive free traffic to your website.
