Make Your Own Website For Free - Part 1
At some time, if you’re wanting to make serious money online, you need to get yourself a website. If you’re the sort of person that’s put it off, or was unsure how to go about that, which host to choose etc and really wanted to start out with a completely free website, to bring in some money until you’re more confident, then check this out: http://www.justfree.com - and to make it easier, below is my quick step-by-step guide to registering and getting your great free website.
There are many free websites out there, each will do things slightly differently - and some won’t have the features that you’ll soon be wanting, so all that effort tends to fall by the wayside and you might lose your enthusiasm if you have to start again …. so here it is, a great little free website that you can use to start earning money online.
Step 1: Go to the JustFree website
Step 2: Register
Step 3:
You’ll now have to check your email Inbox and click on a link in the email they send, don’t forget it might have slipped into your Junk email box s check there too.
Step 4: Fill Out the Form
Fill out the basic information they ask
Top Tip: be careful when you choose your username, this will end up in your website address, so if you’ve got something in particular in mind that you’re interested in then make your username relevant to that subject. e.g. you might be wanting to create a website of great recipes, so you could use a username of recipeking …. make it as relevant to whatever content you think you’ll end up putting there.
You don’t have to put your phone number into the form if you don’t want.
In the bottom box, it’ll ask you about another domain, if you’ve not got one already then just ignore this.
Press SUBMIT
You’ll then get an online message saying “The account has been created successfully. ”
You’re DONE!
You are now the owner of your own website, so you’ll want to know where it is. As you didn’t already have a domain name, your website is in what they call a sub-domain. The sub-domain name uses the username you just picked.
Go to http://username.justfree.com, replacing the word username with the user name you just chose. You’ll see what’s called a placeholder site; most hosts do this, they just have a default page until you put YOUR content onto your site.
The first thing you’ll notice is that they’ve put some Adsense ads onto the placeholder site. You won’t get the money for those ads, so you’ll want to replace that with your own real web page first. It might be worthwhile you printing out that page so you can read what it says in case you change it and then can’t remember.
If you do read through, there’s some technical stuff at the top you might want to know about in a few months, then below that there’s a link to where you log on.
Log On
To log on, you can either click on the link that is currently on your holding page, or you can go back to the main http://www.justfree.com site and login at the top using your username and password.
Once you’re logged on, it’s all yours! So, what can you do with it?
- If you can write your own html then just go ahead.
- If you’ve no idea how to write html, or can’t be bothered to take the time to do it by hand, you can use this: great free website maker - the video shows you how quick and easy that is
- You can create a Wordpress blog on your space, JustFree comes with an automated Wordpress installation option, so you can be blogging within a few short minutes!
Whatever you do, do something and do it now. I spent 10 years before I actually got round to doing something and I regret now every day that I wasted. The sooner you start something, the better.
Top Tip: If you’re interested at all in using Adsense, then simply register your sitename with Google now, create your blog now, make 2-3 initial entries and then 2-3 a day until Google come round to looking at your site (could be up to a couple of weeks, but it might be just 2-3 days and they’ll want to have something worthwhile to look at, not just “hello world”).
Do it! To register with google for adsense, go here: https://www.google.com/adsense
Now create your blog on your new free website.
Good luck…

[...] You can do this with some free hosts, I’d recommend justfree for this (see my posting showing you how to get your free website, it only takes 2 minutes to get going and be logged on: http://homeworker-directory.com/blog/2008/05/27/your-own-free-website-in-just-2-minutes/) [...]
