Data Entry Jobs - What Are Those Adverts? Are They Scams?

I would start by saying that the Data Entry Jobs section on this website are real data entry jobs, working as freelancers, working from home, but there are a deluge of adverts out there advertising Data Entry Jobs that aren’t real jobs at all, so this page tells you about those!

When you see jobs advertising data entry jobs, that lead you through to a single page that tells you all you have to do is fill in simple forms online and you can make squillions …. just part with $20-40 and be deemed worthy to cross their threshold… what is that all about?

Well, here I will tell you, but for free (of course).

The “job” is essentially writing adverts for products.  There are over 25,000  products for you to write adverts for, so you’ll never run out.  Your advert won’t be the same as anybody else’s because you will write differently.

OK, with it so far? Great, so where’s the money …?

The fact is you’re not paid to write the adverts, what you will get is a training manual telling you about Google Adwords and marketplaces like Clickbank.  You’ll be instructed to go find a product that appeals to you in Clickbank, then write an advert suitable for Google Adwords for it, the objective being that your advert is SO great that people clicking on that advert will want to buy the product, when they buy the product, you will get paid.

So, where’s the harm in that then?  Absolutely no harm at all, it’s a perfectly 100% legitimate way that thousands of people earn good money online every day … however, there is no “pay”.  And - it is YOU who will be paying to place the advertisements, through Google Adwords.

So, let’s recap that again.  You will:

  • Receive a training manual telling you all about writing good Google Adwords adverts.  How to keep the cost of the advert low by choosing cheaper keywords  or what are known as “long tail” keywords.
  • You will then write the adverts based on what you’ve learnt and your research: researching which product you will be selling, researching how to keep the ad spend to a minimum.
  • You then pay for those adverts.
  • You monitor the performance of those adverts - quickly killing those that aren’t converting ads into sales and building on and improving your collection of adverts that DO make you money.
  • You will make a profit/loss based on how well you achieved the objectives of writing a good, targetted, compelling advert.

Yes, anybody can do this.

No, it’s not guaranteed  good money - some people will make thousands if they’re good and pay attention and do their research well.

You do need money to start - you have to pay for the adverts (clicks) up front with Google.

Here are my resources for you:

  • A training manual on Google Adwords,  here: Adwords Made Easy
  • A video on how Google pricing works - when you bid on a price to place your advert , this is how Google works out where your advert is placed and how much it will cost you:

So, what else might you need?

You will need to find products to promote, as Clickbank is the most common marketplace for this, you’ll need to sign up for a free account at Clickbank - this is where you will be finding your products to promote. Of course there are other sources too, but this is the largest marketplace for these things, so you might as well start with a large selection.
